After 40 years in dentistry I think I know what the most needy in our society would appreciate
- Inexpensive emergency treatment
- Inexpensive extraction treatment
- Inexpensive denture work – full and partial dentures which are functional.
- Immediate dentures
- Inexpensive additions to dentures.
- Inexpensive repairs to dentures.
Private Health Care
All other treatment could be efficiently handled by private dentists as long as the same private dentist were banned from going anywhere near an NHS patient. Because if a NHS patient is confused with a private patient, competition is taken out of the market and the whole reason that National Health dentistry does not work is because the NHS is just used as a free marketing plan for Dentists. So to go forward, we have to change the way National Health dental provision is organised in this country.
Real NHS Dentists are needed
We have a system in place already at the emergency services, more on this later and this must be expanded to include dentistry the population requires. After 40 years in dentistry I have come to the conclusion that private dentistry and NHS dentistry should not meet…
